Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of The Avid Golfer (“TAG”, “the app”, “the service”), operated by [[LEGAL ENTITY NAME — TO BE CONFIRMED]] (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Who can use TAG

You must be at least 13 years old to use The Avid Golfer. By creating an account you confirm that you are, and that the information you give us is accurate.

2. Your account

You need an account to use the app. You are responsible for the mobile number and email address on your account, and for anything done through it.

Sign-in uses a one-time passcode rather than a password. Keep access to your phone and email secure — anyone who can receive your passcode can sign in as you. Tell us promptly at nakul@theavidgolfer.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.

3. Text messages and notifications

When you sign up or log in, we send a one-time passcode by SMS or email. By providing your mobile number you consent to receive these messages.

• We send SMS only for one-time passcodes — never marketing.
• Message frequency depends on how often you sign in.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to opt out, or HELP for help.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

If you opt out of SMS you can still sign in with a passcode sent to your email address. You can turn push notifications off in your device settings.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Break any law, or infringe anyone else's rights, while using the app.
• Harass, threaten, impersonate or abuse other users.
• Upload content that is unlawful, obscene, hateful, or that you do not have the right to share.
• Attempt to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to access.
• Interfere with the service, or try to disrupt or overload it.
• Scrape, harvest or bulk-collect data from the app, or use automated systems to access it, without our written permission.
• Use the app to send spam or unsolicited messages.

5. Content you post

You keep ownership of the scores, photos, videos, posts and messages you upload. By posting, you give us permission to store, display and share that content within the app so the service can work — for example showing your post to other golfers.

You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to post it. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

6. Guests you add to a match

You can add a guest who does not have a TAG account to a match. If you enter someone else's details, you confirm you have their permission to do so.

7. Lessons and payments

Where the app offers paid lessons, payments are processed by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe and we do not see or store them. Lesson prices, cancellation windows and refund rules are shown at the time of booking and form part of these terms for that booking.

8. Third-party courses and information

Course details, locations, photos and yardages come partly from third-party sources. We work to keep them accurate but cannot guarantee they are complete or current. Always check directly with a course before relying on its information.

9. Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we may need to take the service offline for maintenance.

10. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from within the app or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe is being used unlawfully or to harm others.

11. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the service, including its fitness for a particular purpose or the accuracy of the information in it.

Golf carries inherent physical risk. You are responsible for your own safety and conduct on any course, and for complying with each course's rules.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we make significant changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [[STATE — TO BE CONFIRMED]], United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The courts located in that state will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where the law of your country of residence gives you rights that cannot be overridden.
